Scholarships for Carnegie Mellon University

Pre-College Fine Arts Summer and Saturdays

Video

Fine Arts Group Foundation is hoping for 2 scholarships of up to $350.00 each to be used as matching funds for 2 deserving students in need, to help with costs for the Summer School Art Courses at the University. next year we hope to add $500 in scholarship funds to be used toward partial awards to other deserving students, to help with tuition payments dispersed to 5 more art students of Merit. These scholarships are available from funds raised through the Fine Arts Group, (formed of Arts, Arts Management, and all disciplines of Carnegie Mellon University Alumna, DC Chapter ). As such the Scholarships, matching funds, and awards, are available to students taking summer sessions and/ or Saturday Classes, in any discipline of the Fine Arts or Arts Administration within the appropriate brochure or as approved by the heads of the specific departments.

A committee made up of, or chosen by, the Department Heads representing the College of Fine Arts  and the School of Arts Administration (The Heinz School) will determine the selection of recipients. The selection process used to determine scholarship recipients will be based on two criteria: financial need that would restrict attending  the Summer School Art Courses at Carnegie Mellon University, and the merit determined by the committee that the award would make on the long term goal for use of the skills/knowledge acquired while taking a course.

Completed applications will be reviewed Feb. 15  for decisions in April, and  again May 1, if  funds become, or are still, available at that time, for a second decision completed by June 1.

We gratefully acknowledge the donors as well as the faculty, staff and friends of the Carnegie Mellon School of the Arts, The Heinz School and The Office of Giving, for their generosity in providing the work it takes to implement such very important scholarships.

That’s why we say.... to really do good, and promote the arts - Invest in Living Artists!
